This beat's got a nice smooth clean sound man. The whole middle part was groovin hard. It's very hard to grasp the tune of the intro on the first few listens but I got it. The production on the drums and bass sounds great.

phosphorusprocedure responds:

Thanks for the review, dude. The main bass I've been using lately is the analogue bass preset from Harmor. I just play it backwards to skip the squelchy part. With all the compression and filtering and everything, it makes a pretty good sub-bass.

The tune is pretty weird. I guess if I had some hats or drums playing with it, it'd be easier to follow, but it's kinda herky jerky all by itself.

Fun track, goo work. You make really cool, really solid music. The only thing that could be improved, in this and most of your other work, is just what PP said, the vocals. You've got a good voice and you sell yourself short when you mix them so obscurely in the track. It reminds me of a documentary I saw on Jimi Hendrix. In the studio he always wanted to lower his vocal volume and placement, but the people mixing his vocals said heck no, and made them very prominent. They analyzed them by themselves and found he had great tone and syllable placement.

Anyway my point is I want to hear your lyrics better because your music is excellent and what I can hear of your voice sounds good too!

I was just listening to In the Dark last night! Made me want to write to it.

This shit here is pretty ill. The production on the drums is very flying lotus but with less glitch. Your production really makes your simplistic structures POP. There's a lot of punch in everything you make. I need some lessons. Even from your 2012 self...

BOULLIE responds:

Ha at this time I was just learning how to really "play" notes on the drumpad. Everything was kinda forming. It's really weird going back to my old work tho

If you got questions I've got answers. I'm not stingy about the details

Oooweee nice groove! At the beginning I was like okay this has the potential to be ill. Waiting to see where the snare would hit and all that. It came through perfectly. Great beat man, you're getting really good.

libbyshimmz responds:

Been waitin' on you to review this B!

Thanks for the praise!

Haha Dr Steve Brule!

Nice calm track, nothing amazing but nice to listen to.

Very cool! Nice sounds!

Sounding good! Nice and clean. Those little violin hits seem kinda arbitrary and don't meld as well as the rest of the sounds. Otherwise well produced and solid.

I like the beat a lot in the middle of the track. The thwooming bass/kicks really make for a sick beat. The sampling is a little hectic and all over, but yeah I dig that beat.

phosphorusprocedure responds:

Yeah, instead of sidechaining the kick and bass, or eq'ing around them, I just have them both go at the same time, so they're competing pretty hard. I normally don't do that, so I'm glad it sounded good to you. And yeah, the ending got pretty nuts. I put all those sounds on one track, so they all got mixed the same way. I had so many plugins that my CPU usage was killing me, so I moved the audio buffer from 90 ms to 180 ms and everything was so choppy. I guess that was why I was in a rush to finish it, haha. So I could set it back to 90.

Thanks for the review, man! (I think it's my 300th, actually)

This is pretty cool. Could use a good MC!

Why did I not review? This is solidly good. Well mastered and manageable for a good flow. I'll try to write to it.

BOULLIE responds:
