Likey. simple and soothing mostly.
There's one or two little parts that seem unfocused, or not melding with the other notes at play, like :12 and :57 (same section but repeated). That's one minor complaint.

Needs a more prominent bassline with a funky groove. Sounds like there's something there but could be more defined.

Your drums and simple and right for the old school style, though I'd recommend getting in deeper with some chopping, to differentiate from the break sample you used. And maybe supplement with a kick and a snare/clap of your own to offset the distortion done to the ones in the break, from resizing/adjusting tempo or whatever.

Overall I like it, and the quiet parts, with those nice piano chords are my favorite. The theme is strong and definitely got a peaceful vibe. Keep up the work, keep progressing!
That's my 2 cents and honest opinion! Happy new year!

This go hard cuh. Bird don't fuck around.

phosphorusprocedure responds:

Yeah -- still a few bugs to work out with the approach, like dealing with consonants and whatnot, but it's a cool method. I'll keep messing around with it. Thanks for the review!

Hooked from the first few licks of pinano! This is really really nice. Great groove goin there with the synth bass. I think the changeup at 1:05 was just a tad too glitchy, but it works nonetheless. Nice work on this keep it up!

Interesting. Sounds like acoustic with frooty squeeze. I think I figured out how to sing the lyrics anyway, but you should have included the vocals that would be cool! hehe I know it can be kinda embarrassing.

phosphorusprocedure responds:

Acoustic with fruity squeeze, that's exactly right. Maybe some fast dist, too.

I don't think I ever recorded any vocals, actually.

If I was gonna put the vocals in, I'd probably run it through a vocoder and some other shit to disguise it a little more.

At first it seemed a little bare, but I let it run and ended up loving that groove a lot. The effects and pad sounds(maybe vocal samples? not sure) in the back give it a eerie vibe.
Great great beat man! I want to write to it.

DJDureagon responds:

That would be sweet. I am putting some more variation in there to spice it up. Thanks for checking it out dude. Ill be posting more soon.

Ohh funky!
Like a pool shark space outlaw just showed up at a space bar and ran the table and got in a funky fight with some space goons and beat them up without touching them and made them pay his tab and... I've been drinking.
Nice beat buddy.

phosphorusprocedure responds:

Haha, sweet analogy!

Thanks, dude.

Cool sounds man. Like the instruments and feel! Only thing is that the drums sound a little filtered, lost their treble a bit. Nice chops though, sounds good otherwise!

Libby-Shimmz responds:

I do the equalization on purpose. Makes it sound better.

You got a flow man, and a catchy ass hook, love when your tracks got a hook man, and it's a catchy beat. MOAR LIEK THIS.

Anjovi responds:

glad you like it! ;D

This is some cowboy shit. Very classic old school feel, though not the depth I'm used to from your drums. Love that horn that jumps in at 1:58, kinda wanted more of that! Good beat, nice and simple for a rap.

BOULLIE responds:

yeah that's what I wanted. I often get complaints about beats having too much to rhyme over. I think I'd like to explore more subtlety as far as how things communicate with each other.

Still trying to harness the power in simplicity

Hmm interesting. You call it rapefunk? Fitting, I suppose.

I like to make music.
