This is some cowboy shit. Very classic old school feel, though not the depth I'm used to from your drums. Love that horn that jumps in at 1:58, kinda wanted more of that! Good beat, nice and simple for a rap.

yeah that's what I wanted. I often get complaints about beats having too much to rhyme over. I think I'd like to explore more subtlety as far as how things communicate with each other.
Still trying to harness the power in simplicity
Hmm interesting. You call it rapefunk? Fitting, I suppose.
Saw this on soundcloud. Very nice beat man, excellent production!
Wow, awesome! As 'cutesy' as it seems, it's very badass. Like Mario mixed with Crash Bandicoot. Kid friendly but lethal! I really can't find any fault in it, besides freaking the drums a little more, but they are just fine how they are. Great song!
Thanks. I didn't notice this review. Cheers! And merry Christmas :)
Whoaa there. This is too sick! That bass is grumpy as frankenstein. Then he freaks out and slaps a bitch at 0:18. Damn dude, impressive groove in this one seriously.
Thanks! This track was an extension of the last one (Clouds) -- same project file, same sounds, but messed around with the sounds a little bit. I put a bit of E-Phonic LOFI (messed with the knobs, still don't really know how to use it) on the kick so it got that 80s action movie thing going on. Made the bass a little gruffier. Took the sample I used, slid it down an octave and applied distortion thinking it would be the bassline but it didn't sound great so I made a lil riff thing out of it instead. Just kinda tinkered around with it. Glad you dug it!
I see you're swingin you drums gettin that custom sound ;) I like that and the bass.
The other sounds I think could have made a more distinct melody, something you could hum to.
I sorta had one but I couldn't get it to fit with the drums without sounding weird so I took it out.
Thanks for the review!
Awesome! Very jungly. I love the part at 1:06. Wish it could have mixed with the airy vocals that came earlier in the track. That's all it's missing is a buildup and splash when the diff elements come together. Great music man.
Oh true, that would've been cool. I kinda slapped the outline of the track together so I wasn't thinking about buildups or anything... that always tends to happen though. Focusing on the main pattern, then when it comes time to structure the track, split the main pattern into all the components and scatter them around. Probably a better way of doing that sort of thing...
Thanks for the review, dude!
Nice, fucking spygame James Bond shit. I'm writin to this as we speak. slick shit dude you're gonna like it.
If you're lying about the rhymes...
I'm gonna cry.
Save a copy of the acapella! I like to sample the shit people throw on my beats
Nice piano sample, and I like the opera singer coming in sometimes.
The strings seemed to hit a sour note though, and the hi hat was a little meh, could do with a different hi hat to go with the brush drums in the background and the general mysterious feel. Also maybe some drum fill or buildup between sections.
The switchup at 1:26 was saweet.
Pretty good beat!
i hear ya on that! yeah it's just laziness all in all...hehe, will probably take this one down in a bit.
I like to make music.
